Join us for our third annual spring fiesta for games, food, prizes, music, and fun on May 4th, 2024, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Funds raised will help improve our school grounds and make educational enhancements for the entire school.​

About our event
Our Spring family festival is open to all! The event will feature entertainment, food from local PG County restaurants, games, and activities.
Join us on May 20 from 11am-3pm at the school grounds (6609 Riggs Rd. in Hyattsville).

Event Details

Who can attend this event? This is a community event open to all! We welcome both our Chávez school community as well as prospective students, community members, and others.

What activities will take place? We will have a variety of fun activities including a bounce house, lotería, dunk tank, penalty kick, and tie dye booth. There will also be music, student dance performances, and the reveal of our plans for a new outdoor learning space.

Tickets: This event is free to attend but food and activity tickets will be available for sale.

Food: Food will be available for purchase from local restaurant Cocineros and Mr. Magic Ice Cream Truck. In addition, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase as well as cotton candy. ( Mr. Magic and cotton candy are cash only).

Parking: Parking at the school is extremely limited and reserved for those in need of parking accommodations. Please either park at Kidist Kidanemihret Ethiopian Orthodox Church (6509 Riggs Rd.) or use street parking. A rear entrance to the school grounds can be found next to 6315 Balfour Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20782.

Bathrooms: Bathrooms will be available inside the school. Please note the inside of the school is otherwise closed to the public.
